Roger L. Wade 1936-2018

CHAMPION — Roger Lee Wade, 81, of Champion, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at his home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Louisville, Ky., the son of the late Russell and Ruby Simpson Wade.

On June 9, 1956, he married the former Arlein Kays. They shared over 58 years of marriage and many wonderful memories until her passing July 10, 2014.

Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served for four years. He also retired from Copperweld Steel after 42 years of service.

He was well known for his golfing and had several holes-in-one. Roger enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and his favorite team was the Kentucky Wildcats.

He loved his pugs, Wrinkles and Jasper.

Memories of Roger will be carried on his daughters, Patty (Jerry) Dean of Champion, with whom he made his home; Karen Wade of Champion, Donna (Denny) Skeels of Champion and Tina Heck of Austintown; sister, Celia Phillips of Mt. Washington, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Wade.

Besides his wife, Roger was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andy Wade; and two brothers, Kenneth and Ray Wade.

A private graveside service will be held.

Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.

The family requests that material contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Ste. 270, Cleveland, OH 44125, in his memory.

Arrangements are entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
