Phyllis E. Darlington 1933-2018

WINDHAM — Phyllis E. Darlington, 84, of Windham, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 29,1933, in Port Clinton, to Don and Mary Bond.

She married Bobby Jean Darlington on July 9, 1958, and he preceded her in death.

She was a dedicated RN for 43 years, who loved geriatric nursing. Phyllis enjoyed singing in Hiram Women’s Choir and with the Singing Grannies. She was lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, where she participated in several mission trips to Haiti and Puerto Rico. She loved spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Alan) Finn of Southington, Susan (Bill) McClellan of Champion, Marian (Leonard) ODonnell of Windham; and her sons, Don and Dowell Darlington, both of Windham. She also is survived by two sisters, Donna Graham and Grace Higgins of Texas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Windham United Methodist Church or the Portage County APL.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at the United Methodist Church, 9051 N. Main St., Windham. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at the church, with Pastor Sandy Greenberg and Pastor Anthony Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
