Diana M. Bircan 1957-2018

PITTSBURGH — Diana Marie Bircan, 60, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Warren, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 3, 1957, to the late Gabriel R. Khula and Elizabeth M. Khula.

Diana worked for many years in the business offices at Packard Electric, Warren, and held administrative positions in Jacksonville, Fla., and in Pittsburgh. She and her husband were co-owners of Sunset Pizza in Carnegie, Pa. Their business was selected twice as the best family-owned business. She also successfully managed and marketed a website dedicated to Turkish cultural items and foods.

She enjoyed reading, crafting and photography and always had a project in the works. She had received awards for some of her life photography photos as well as her needlepoint creations.

When Diana and Sadi were married, she became a significant member of the Bircan family. She immersed herself in Turkish culture and became a rock for the Bircan family and a shining star. She was caring, thoughtful and loving, especially for the children in the family she gave love and guidance. Everyone she met knew she was a special personality, a shining star and she brought positivity into many lives. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

She was generous and had a very caring heart. She loved animals and supported the House Rabbit Society and no kill animal shelters.

Loving memories of Diana will be cherished by her husband, Mehmet Sadi Bircan; sisters, Nancy Morrison and Lisa (Roger) Crowbridge; her brother, Bruce (Sally) Khula; several nieces and nephews from both sides of the family; as well as many loving friends.

Diana was laid to eternal rest in Chartiers Cemetery in East Carnegie, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity most dear to her, the House Rabbit Society or any local no kill animal shelter.

“Her beautiful spirit lives in our hearts forever.”
