William F. Collins Jr. 1951-2018

WARREN — William “Willie” F. Collins Jr., 66, of Warren, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

William was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Macon, Ga., a son of William F. Collins Sr. and Maggie Ballard Collins.

He was a 1970 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.

A lover of music, especially the Temptations, he enjoyed attending musical concerts and was a football fan.

He was employed as a millwright at WCI Steel for more than 30 years.

William is survived by his mother, Maggie Collins; five sons, Brian A. Collins and Brandon A. Collins, both of Youngstown, Damon McDonald of Washington, D.C., DelShawn May of Warren and William McCree of Canton; one daughter, Sabrina Collins of Columbus; brothers, Michael (Yolandes) Collins of Chicago, Tim (Kim) Collins and Dennis McGhee, both of Columbus; sisters, Patricia (Jerry) Hugley of Warren and Diane Anderson, Denise (Gary) Johnson, Michelle McGhee, Christine Collins-Fall and Monica Manny Trice, all of Columbus; and 14 grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his father, William F. Collins Sr.; a daughter, Tonya R. Collins; and his brother, Bobby Cook.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at New Freedom Baptist Church, 1590 Tod Ave. SW, Warren. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Murray-Wellington Funeral Home, Alliance.
