Ronald M. Wells 1939-2018
LORDSTOWN — Ronald Monroe Wells, 78, of Lordstown, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, at his residence.
He was born July 18, 1939, in Seville, Fla., the son of Clyde and Emily Waters Wells.
After he completed his formal education at Seville High School, Ron entered the U.S. Navy, served from 1957 to 1960 and received an honorable discharge.
On April 19, 1961, Ron married Carol Purdy in Seville and had three boys.
He was employed as a booth cleaner at General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 2000.
In his spare time, Ron enjoyed golfing and going to his grandkids’ sporting events.
Cherished memories will be carried on by Ron’s sons, Todd (Julie) and Brian (Louis) Wells and daughter-in-law, Lorrie Wells, all of Lordstown; brother, Michael (companion, Carol Dunn) Wells of Pierson, Fla.; sister, Elaine (Brian) Cunningham of Port Orange, Fla.; and grandchildren, Olivia, Zach, Sydney and Sam.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol in 2006; son, Mark Wells; and three brothers, Kline, Tommy and Tony.
Family and friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where services will be at 4 p.m. Ron will be laid to rest next to his wife, Carol, in Lordstown Cemetery.
