Allen L. Williams 1942-2018

NILES — Allen L. Williams, 75, of Niles, passed away at 10:43 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, after a brief illness, in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Warren, the son of the late Charles LeRoy and Rachel Rupe Williams.

He was a 1960 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, Allen proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Allen was recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency from 1963 to 1968.

Allen was employed for 36 years at Niles Expanded Metals. Earlier in his career he was a line operator, but at the time of his retirement in 2006, Mr. Williams was a supervisor.

Mr. Williams enjoyed watching various sporting events, especially football and NASCAR. He looked forward to going fishing on a nice summer day, enjoying a good book or riding his bicycle. Allen especially cherished traveling with his wife to Mexico and the Dominican Republic on a yearly basis.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Virostek Williams, whom he married on May 27, 1966; a daughter, Julie Williams of Anderson, Ind.; three sons, Brian Miller of Panama City, Fla., David Williams (Theresa) of Cortland and Eric (Debbie) Williams of Brazil, Ind.; a sister, Suzan Heath of Akron; four grandchildren, Paige and Blake Mize and Morgan and Kyle Williams.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Williams; and two brothers, Richard and Glenn Williams.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home and Cremation Services LLC, 614 Warren Ave., Niles, OH 44446. A prayer service will be noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Korda officiating. Allen will receive full military honors at St. Stephen Cemetery.
