Mahlon J. Byler 1927-2018

MIDDLEFIELD — Mahlon J. Byler, 91, of Middlefield, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2018.

He was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Middlefield Township, the son of John Henry and Sarah Farmwald Byler.

Mahlon worked as an extrusion engineer for Mercury Plastics in Middlefield.

He lived in Middlefield all his life and was an active member of Zion Christian Fellowship.

Mahlon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence Hostetler Byler; children, Rebecca (William) Mullet of Ohio, Ruth (Randy) Coblentz of Florida, David (Kathy) Byler of Kansas, Daniel (Jody) Byler of Florida, Kenneth (Karen) Byler of Iowa, Sara (Tim) Hershberger of Ohio, Rosanna (Kerry) Martin of Ohio, Kevin Byler of Massachusetts, James (Andrea) Byler of Ohio, Jason Byler of Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Henry (Clara) Byler, Andy (Barbara) Byler, Samuel (Cora) Byler; and sister, Marie (Byler) Miller.

He is preceded in death by two grandchildren; three brothers and a sister.

Friends and family will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Christian Fellowship Church, Middlefield.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Horizons Christian Assembly Church, Middlefield.

Interment will follow at Zion Christian Fellowship Cemetery.
