CORTLAND — Jane Anne Latimer, 85, of Cortland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Community Skilled Health Care Centre.
She was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Jack and Caroline Grace Gooding Dalton.
Jane Anne married Harry James Latimer on Oct. 8, 1950, while he was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years together.
Mrs. Latimer worked for The May Co. of Cleveland as a senior executive until retiring in 1985. Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Cortland. In her younger years, Jane was involved in her family roller skating business. She remained active in roller skating by scoring competitive events from 1965 to 1990. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting antique figurines and dishes. Jane had a love for all animals, especially horses. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for her family.
Jane’s loving memory will be cherished by her husband, Harry Latimer of Cortland; sons, Dennis James Latimer of Cortland, Richard Warren (Kate) Latimer of Kenersville, N.C., Darrel David (Lisa) Latimer of Fairview Park and Thomas Alan (Heather) Latimer of Alpharetta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dalton.
