Herbert L. Stottlemire 1947-2018

WARREN — Herbert L. Stottlemire, 70, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Herbert was born March 16, 1947, in Buckeye, W.Va., to the late Harry and Lou Morrison Stottlemire.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

Herbert worked for Luntz Steel in Warren as a crane operator before taking a job with the Army Corps of Engineers. He retired from the Army Corps with more than 30 years of service.

He enjoyed woodworking and compiling his family genealogy. He enjoyed watching TV with his family, especially “Jeopardy,” “NCIS” and “The Andy Griffith Show.”

Herbert will be forever missed by his daughter, Kimberly (Jimmy) Quinn; his sons, Daniel (JoAnna) Stottlemire and Brian (Selena) Stottlemire; grandchildren, Jon, Sierra, David, Victoria and Noah; his sisters, Mary Jordan and Becky Mechling; and his brothers, Dave Stottlemire, and Ronald Stottlemire.

Besides his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, the former Kathlyn “Kathi” Yingling, who died Oct. 26, 2012; his granddaughter, Ashley Jane; sister, Varina Wiseman; and brothers, Frank “Richard” Stottlemire and John Stottlemire.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m.Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Jessie Howard Jr., officiant.
