Gladys Aslam 1950-2018

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Gladys Aslam, 67, of 4602 Birch Ridge Trail, Stone Mountain, Ga., departed this life at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Arrowhead Rehab and Nursing Facility in Jonesboro, Ga., after a short battle with lung cancer.

She was born April 21, 1950, in Warren, and made her residence in Stone Mountain over the last eight years.

Gladys was employed with the Dekalb County School District as a clerical substitute. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Tamara L. (Albert) Phoenix of Michigan, E’lan R. (Robin) Lewis of Georgia and Michael Shakespeare of Michigan; sisters, Mary (Charles-deceased) Harris of Niles, Tederine (Alfred-deceased) Burney of Columbus and Pearl (Willie) Parker of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Wheeler (Dorothy) Morgan Jr. of Warren and Dr. Gerald L. (Vivian) Morgan of Lordstown; grandchildren, Domonique Y. Wade, E’lan R. Lewis Jr., Monique L. Wade, Deja I. Lewis and Asia C. Williams; two great-grandchildren, Kingston E. Wade and Joella L. Lewis; and a whole host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wheeler Morgan Sr. and Mary L. Morgan; one sister, Rosie Lee Morgan; and one brother, Eugene Morgan.

A memorial service will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries COGIC, 789 Hoyt St., Warren, Ohio 44485
