Anna Firment 1918-2017

WARREN — Anna Firment, 99, of Warren, entered eternal life at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at her home, with her family by her side, under the comforting care of hospice.

Mrs. Firment was born Nov. 14, 1918, in Galloway, W.Va., the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Semancik Gayan.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening.

Mrs. Firment was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.

She was married to Michael Firment on Oct. 7, 1938, and they were married for almost 54 years until his passing on June 9, 1992.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Anna is survived by two sons, Donald R. (Helen) Firment and Michael G. (Gloria) Firment; a daughter, Barbara Ann Gibowicz; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Firment was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Gayan; and sisters, Mary Kacsak, Betty Rinzella, Helen Holod, Margaret Phillips and Julia Bates.

A private graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Warren, with the Rev. Simeon B. Sibenik officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations, in Anna’s name, and be directed to Hospice of the Valley, 5000 E. Market St. Suite 9, Warren, OH 44484.
