Lois M. Phillips 1925-2017

EL PASO, Texas — Lois M. Phillips, 92, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Girard and Leavittsburg, was reunited with her husband on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017.

She was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Irondale, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Eva Smith Echols.

On April 19, 1944, she married Flavis Phillips, with whom she spent the next 51 years, until his passing on Dec. 12, 1995.

She was a graduate of Irondale High School, class of 1943, and the Trumbull Memorial School of Nursing, class of 1970. A registered nurse for 25 years, she was employed by Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Community Skilled Nursing Center.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, sons, Jonathan F. Phillips of Leavittsburg, James K. (Donna) Phillips of El Paso, with whom she made her home, Jeffrey W. (Collette) Phillips of Riverside, Calif.; her daughter, Karen F. Phillips of Girard; her brother, Donald Echols of Sheboygan, Wis.; grandsons, Joseph J. Phillips and Joshua F. Phillips both of Southington; Caleb Phillips of Riverside, Calif.; granddaughter, Madeline Phillips of Boston; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie of Southington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Flavis Phillips; sisters, Mary, Dorothy, Alice, Ruth and Grace; and brothers Burt, Rupert, Jack and Herb.

Mrs. Phillips was a longtime resident of Leavittsburg, having lived there for over 60 years. She loved reading and was a bibliophile, attending the Warren Public Library book sale every year she was able.

Services will be 4 p.m. Nov. 18, 2017, at Calvary Chapel Redeeming Grace, 11505 Confederate Drive, El Paso, Texas.
