HARWICH, Mass. — Frances Haynes, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
She was born April 6, 1923, in Claysville, Pa. She moved to Warren and worked as a school secretary for 25 years.
She was married to Richard Haynes and they lived in Ohio until his retirement in 1979, when they moved to the Cape. She worked as a real estate agent and later as a receptionist for many years at Fontaine Medical Center.
Finally retiring at the age of 84, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, bird watching, baking, bike riding and long walks with her beloved dog. She was a member of Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Ramage of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Steve Cooper of California and Robyn Younger of Missouri; stepsons, Terry (Barbara) Haynes of Harwich, Mass., and Richard (Alison) Haynes of Westerville. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Cooper; her husband, Richard Haynes; and her brother, Hal Ramage.
The family will hold a graveside service for family and friends to honor and celebrate Fran’s life at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich, Mass.
