Malissa M. Priscilla

LEAVITTSBURG –Malissa M. “Mornell” Priscilla, 81, of Leavittsburg, passed away early Sunday morning, July 30, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Mornell, as she was affectionately known, was born March 25, 1936, in New Martinsville, W.Va., the daughter of Calvin Brown and Mabel Sweeney Brown Hardesty. Her father died when she was a young child and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Howard Hardesty.

She spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.

Mornell married John “Shakey” Priscilla on Sept. 24, 1955. They shared 61 years of marriage and many happy memories together until his passing Nov. 27, 2016.

She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Warren. She enjoyed reading and was an avid bingo player.

Mornell is survived by three children, Mitchell Priscilla and Sherry (Albert) Patchin, both of Niles, and Darren Priscilla of Warren. She also leaves behind a brother, John (Jean) Brown of Reader, W.Va.; five grandsons, Corey, Cagney, Justin, Drake and Jarren; and her beloved dog, Daisy.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister.

Private funeral services were held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren, with Pastor David R. Black officiating.

Mornell was laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Township.
