Kathie A. Placer 1948-2017
WARREN — Kathie A. Placer, 69, of Warren, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 24, 2017, at her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 14, 1948, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter of Matthew and Ruth Hedrick Panak.
Kathie was a 1966 graduate of Badger High School. She had many work experiences. She worked as an admitting clerk for Warren General Hospital and in an office at Valley View Department Store. She managed a motel in Arizona and worked for the U.S. government reading aerial maps.
She married Terry M. Placer Sr. on March 16, 2007. They shared 10 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He survives her.
Kathie was a member of Living Word Fellowship Church in Kinsman, where she sang in the choir and was the financial secretary. Kathie loved serving her Lord and Savior King Jesus. She was blessed with a kind and gentle spirit with an inner light that touched everyone she met. She wrote short stories, including one titled “My Journey Home.” She enjoyed crafts, making dolls and flower arranging. She loved riding with her husband on his Harley.
Memories of her will be cherished by her husband, Terry M Placer Sr. of Warren and a son, Bradford E. Gill of Warren. She also leaves behind four stepchildren, Terry M. Placer Jr. of Austintown, R. Michael Placer of New Waterford, Sherry Welch of Kinsman and Kera (Anthony) Hall of Warren; a brother, George (Sue) Panak of Kinsman; a sister, Julie (Andy) Amodio of Champion; a grandson, Jesse James Gill of Kinsman; three stepgrandchildren, Teagen Jewell, Jeremy Brown and Joshua Marshall; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepson, Ford Eugene Goss.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at the Living Word Fellowship Church, 6346 state Route 87, Kinsman, OH 44428, across the street from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Pastor Gregory Davis officiating.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Living Word Fellowship Church.
The family requests that material contributions be made to MVI Hospice in Kathie’s memory.
