June K. Beresik

NEWTON FALLS — June K. Beresik, 91, of Newton Falls, passed on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at her residence.

She was born June 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of William and Mary Moschak Kranetsky.

After graduating from Newton Falls High School in 1945, she worked as a secretary in Buffalo, then returned home to work in the accounting department of a large retail store in Warren. She also worked at the Ravenna Arsenal in the payroll department. After marriage and children, she stayed home taking care of the home and children. She made sure that there was always something fresh out of the oven every day and her home was always filled with the laughter of neighborhood children.

June and Joseph L. Beresik were united in marriage on June 23, 1950. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to their children, Canice and David. She was active in the PTA and was a classroom helper.

June and her husband enjoyed golfing and she participated in various golf leagues. Other interests included cooking, baking, solving crossword puzzles and reading.

Loving memories of June will be carried on by her caring family, her daughter, Dr. Canice (Dr. Richard) Barnett; her son, David (Lori) Beresik; her grandchildren, Stephanie Durachinsky and Katie Leep; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Brooklynn, Alex and Ryan.

Preceding June were her husband of 61 years, Joseph, who passed on Sept. 27, 2011; her parents; and her siblings, Anne Suhy, Jack Kane, William Kranetsky, Kitty Franklin, Mary Jayne Phillips and Helen Kranetsky.

The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. A committal service and interment will follow in Newton Township Cemetery in Newton Falls.
