WARREN — John A. Spatar Sr., 66, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 10, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

John was born July 25, 1950, in Youngstown, a son of the late George and Loretta Liberatore Spatar, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1968 graduate of Girard High School and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 36 years, retiring in 2005. During his retirement, John delivered flowers for Creative Design & Floral in Niles.

John was a fan of the Youngstown State University Penguins and was a model-train afficionado. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 38 years, Peggy Foerster Spatar, whom he married in 1978; his son, John Spatar Jr. at home; a brother, George Spatar of Girard; many extended family members; and many friends.
