Jane M. Flitcraft 1936-2017

SOUTHINGTON — Jane M. Flitcraft, 80, of Southington, passed away 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at Brookdale of Piqua.

She was born Oct. 25, 1936, in Warren, to the late Daniel and Thelma Fowler Miller.

Mrs. Flitcraft earned her degree in accounting and then went on to work at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in the accounting department before she and her husband started Crafton Molding in their basement in Southington in 1961. They then ventured into the bar business and owned Ralph’s Place on U.S. Route 422. In 1982, they bought Proto Mold Products in Piqua, which is still up and running.

Jane grew up in the United Methodist Church of Southington. She was baptized and married. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, crafting, gardening, traveling and playing pinochle. She will be remembered for her zest for life, many friends, wonderful smile and kind heart.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Edward) Mercer of Otis Orchards, Wash.; a son, Craig (Rita) Flitcraft of Piqua; two grandchildren, Jessica (Tom) Stockton of Portland, Ore. and Joshua (Emily) Mercer of Spokane, Wash.; and a great-granddaughter, Ramona Jane Stockton.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Miller; and sister, Iva King.

A service to honor her life will begin at noon Sunday, May 28, 2017, with a gathering for family and friends, followed by a 12:30 p.m. service at the United Methodist Church of Southington, with the Rev. Jim George officiating. Lunch will be provided at the church following the service.

A private burial will be in Graham Cemetery of Southington.
