Richard P. Piros

FAIRBORN — Richard P. “Rich” Piros, 69, of Fairborn, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at the Hospice of Dayton.

He was born May 5, 1947, in Warren, the son of the late Michael and Mamie Berta Piros.

Rich served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and was employed as the owner and president of GA Campbell Insurance Agency in Fairborn, retiring after 30 years.

Rich served his community as a board member of the Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce, vice-chairman of the Fairborn Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, chairman of the Fairborn Zoning Board of Appeals and the Fairborn Jaycees and JCI Senator #34712. He was a member and past president of Greene Co. Independent Insurance Agents and a member of American Legion Dignam-Whitmore Post 526. An avid golfer, he enjoyed many rounds at the Greene Country Club over the years.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Debbie; two children, Scott (Nikki) Piros of Gilbert, Ariz., and Jenni (Eric) Murray of Beavercreek; two grandchildren, Faith Piros of Mesa, Ariz., and Zane Murray of Beavercreek; two siblings, Michael (Pat) Piros of Cortland and Patty (Ken) Fouse of Vandergrift, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Larry (Patti) Campbell of Dayton and Mike (Sally) Campbell of Columbus; sister-in-law, Barbara Cliff of Cleburne, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends.

Rich was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be remembered kindheartedly by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn. A brief memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton.
