Virginia E. Campbell
1928-2017
WARREN — Virginia E. Campbell, 88, of Warren, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Gallipolis, a daughter of Bert W. and Lucy May Holly Ross.
Virginia attended school in the Gallipolis area. She worked as a cook for a time at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She also sold Stanley Home Products for many years. Her most important role was that of wife and mother, raising and caring for her family.
She married John G. Campbell June 18, 1949. They shared 62 years of marriage and many happy memories together until his passing on Oct. 3, 2011.
Memories of Virginia will be carried on by her two children, Peggy J. Campbell of Warren and James G. (Lori) Campbell of Howland. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Cori (Richard) Riggs, Chad (Shannon) Campbell, James (Elizabeth) Campbell, Leah (Maxwell) Merhar, Joshua Campbell, Shawn (Jamie) Hannah, Darlene Hannah, Chad (Sarah) Hannah and Robert Hannah; and 10 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brenda May Hannah; two brothers, Roy and Russell Ross; a sister, Helen Adams; and a grandson, Brent Hannah.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren, with Pastor James Dittmar officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services, noon to 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
In lieu of flowers the family requests material contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, in her memory.
