Virginia K. DeWalk

YOUNGSTOWN — Virginia K. DeWalk, 93, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown.

Virginia was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Youngstown, the daughter of Perry and Goldie Lawrence Kimmel, and was a lifelong area resident.

Virginia was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 1941 and had worked for the steel mills and Packard Electric during World War II. After the war, she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Virginia loved crocheting, gardening and traveling.

Her husband, Arnold R. DeWalk, whom she married July 27, 1944, passed away Jan. 3, 2015.

Virginia leaves four children, Richard (Beverly) DeWalk, Debby (Timothy) Tynan, Susan (Len) Draghi and Cindy DeWalk; one sister, Mary Penny; as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy, Mike Perry, Jim and Archie; and two sisters, Marian “Toots” and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
