GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Rev. David W. Olshevski, 80, of Greenville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016.

He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Quakertown, Pa., the son of the late Michael and Melba Koch Olshevski.

He attended Eastern Bible Institute, now known as Valley Forge University, where he met Janis Lucik.

They were married in 1956, and after Dave’s graduation in 1957, they founded a musical ministry group called “the Evangelizers” for six months. Following this, Dave accepted a pastorate in Spring Glen, Pa.

In 1960, after Dave’s ordination in Jeanette, Pa., he began a full-time itinerate ministry, which he concluded in 1980. This ministry took them to over 500 churches, to 47 states, Canada, the Bahamas and Africa. He accepted a call to pastor the Assembly of God church in Penn Hills, Pa., during 1985 to 1986. Along with establishing a church in Penn Hills, he started a Church Insurance Agency, during which he serviced church related policies for 23 years. Dave was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Dave’s memory will be carried on by his wife of 60 years, Janis Olshevski of Greenville; two brothers, Gerald (Lydia) Olshevski of North East, Pa. and Timothy (Robin) Olshevski of Quakertown, Pa.; sister, Janet Olshevski of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 15 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
