Robert H. Elswick

1951-2016

WARREN – Robert H. Elswick, 65, passed away early Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

He was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Niles, a son of Jess and Madeline Elswick. He was a 1969 graduate of Howland High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his discharge, he would return to Warren and spend over 45 years working for ArcelorMittal before his retirement as a supervisor earlier this year.

He was an avid Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He also had coached girls softball for many years at Burbank Park.

He is survived by his wife, Sindee, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1971; his son, Josh (Kelly) Elswick of Austintown; daughter, Nicole (Paul) Mendik of Lordstown; his grandchildren, Kelsie Daniel of Cleveland and Drew Mendik of Lordstown; brother, Donald Elswick of Niles; sister, Nancy Hensley of McDonald; his in-laws, Jim and Barb Leach of Palmetto, Fla; and by his beloved dog companions Grady and Laney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.

Private services will be held Friday morning.
