Michael M. Sheptock 1925-2016

WARREN — Michael M. Sheptock, 91, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Mike was born March 31, 1925, in Elkhorn, W.Va., a son of Michael and Emma Sheptock.

He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School and moved to Warren in 1942. In July 1943, he enlisted with the Merchant Marines and served with them throughout World War II.

After his discharge, he would spend 34 years at Van Huffel Tube Corp. as a roll design operator before his retirement.

Mike enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and umpiring slow-pitch softball. He was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and also loved crafting Ukrainian Easter eggs and Orthodox crosses.

Mike is survived by his sons, Gary (Cathy) Sheptock and Mark Sheptock, all of Berlin Center; his grandchildren, Logan and Ryley; brother, Pete (Maryann) Sheptock of Boston; and his sister, Helen King of Endicott, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Marge,” whom he married Feb. 4, 1947; and by his two sisters, Ann Semanco and Julie Barker.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, officiating.

Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren, with a 1 p.m. Panchida service, and 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in his memory, to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2053 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
