Jack L. Brizzi Sr.


WARREN — Jack L. Brizzi Sr., 79, of Warren, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016.

He was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Charleroi, Pa., the son of Elio and Frances Lynn Brizzi.

Mr. Brizzi earned his Bachelor of Science in education from Ohio University and a master’s degree in education from Kent State University.

He served with the Fine Arts Council from inception until 1987, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Ballet Theater of Ohio. In January 1993, he retired as professor of theater from Kent State University Trumbull Campus after 27 years.

Mr. Brizzi was a resident of Warren since 1965, coming from Ravenna. He was a member of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 until 1961.

Survivors include his brother, James Brizzi of North Truro, Mass., and half-sister, Carol Lehman of Newell, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elio and Frances Brizzi; as well as his son, Jack L. Brizzi Jr.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown, with the Rev. Matthew Alspaugh officiating.
