Victor Alberini 1932-2016
CHAMPION — Victor Alberini, 84, of Champion, entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ Nov. 19, 2016, at his home with his children by his side.
He was born March 11, 1932, in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Fred and Madeline Calabrese Alberini.
He married his childhood sweetheart and best friend, Ruth Brooks Alberini, Oct. 23, 1954, and had shared 66 years together, 59 of those years married, until her passing in 2014.
Victor was a 1951 graduate of Leavittsburg High School and was drafted into the United States Marine Corps.
He was employed by Copperweld Steel Co. for 36 years and then worked as a consultant for Bognar and Co. in Pittsburgh.
He attended Maranatha Church and was a devoted Christian, husband and father.
He was an avid fisherman and spent many years fishing Lake Erie, and Lake Nipissing in Ontario, Canada, where he and his family built a cabin together that will continue to be a place of gathering for them. He enjoyed politics and was active in his local government. He also enjoyed winemaking and sharing that hobby with others. He loved music and would often sing and dance with friends and family. He was a constant encouragement to others, always offering positive advice and help to anyone who needed it. Above all, his faith, family and being surrounded by them, even until the end, was the most important thing in his life.
Loving memories of Victor will be carried on by his children, including sons, Gregg A. (Deborah) Alberini Sr. of Warren and Tarry A. (Rhonda) Alberini of Newton Falls; daughters, Sharon K. (Vince) Santangelo of Warren and Debra (John) Conley of Braceville; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Carol) Alberini; and sister, Madeline (Rudy) DeAngelis of Humboldt, Ariz.
