Robert L. Weaver

WARREN — Robert L. Weaver Sr., 74, of Warren, passed on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, with his loving family by his bedside.

Robert was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Canton, the son of John H. and Bettie Grimes Weaver.

Bob attended the Leavittsburg school system and then enlisted into the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he obtained employment at RMI, from where he retired after 30-plus years as an electrician.

Bob enjoyed a wide variety of pastimes, which included camping at Ponderosa, auto racing, both drag and stock cars, playing poker, cooking and listening to country music. Bob held membership in the Army Navy Garrison 283 in Warren. He had a great sense of humor and loved his rescue dog, Sammy.

Memories of Bob will be carried on by his loving family, including his daughters, Lynette (Tim) Allen of Champion and Leann (Brian) Lang of Cortland; his son, Robert Weaver Jr. of Warren; his grandchildren, Mandy, Rob, T.J., Corey, Kayla, Josh and Breydon; his great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, James and Carter; his sisters, Babs Herenick of West Farmington and Bettie Sue Christman of Brookfield; and his former wife, Helen, whom he had married on Aug. 26, 1957, at the Second Christian Church in Warren.

Preceding were his parents; his brother, William Weaver; and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Weaver.

Honoring Bob’s wishes, neither visitation nor a service will take place. Interment will be in the Lordstown Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the ICU at St. Joseph Health Center for the exceptional care that was given to Bob.

Arrangements for Bob were entrusted to Borowski Funeral Services and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
