FOWLER — Nixon ONeil, 81, of Fowler, passed away Friday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2016, at Meadowbrook Manor.
He was born April 11, 1935, in California, Pa., the son of Nixon and Kathline ONeil.
Nixon was a high school graduate and an Army veteran. He was a machinist, retiring from Packard Electric.
He was a life member of the AMVETS Post 290 in Vienna and a member and past commander of the Mosquito Lake Power Squadron. He enjoyed golf and boating and was a licensed ham radio operator.
He is survived by two sons, Donald ONeil of Inwood, W.Va., and Kevin (Penny) ONeil of Denbeau Heights, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Sheryl DeJean of Fowler; two stepsons, Chip DeJean of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Bruce DeJean of Fowler; six grandchildren, Ashley, Seth, Andrew, Tyler, Amanda and Samantha; and eight step-grandchildren.
On Feb. 28, 2013, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Benning ONeil, whom he married Dec. 28, 1991. He was also preceded by a son, Nick ONeil.
Friends and relatives may call 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. Burial will be in Dugan Cemetery, Fowler.
