John D. Porter Jr.

WARREN — John Douglas Porter Jr., 51, of Warren, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born Dec. 5, 1964, to John Sr. and Mary Morgan Porter.

He was a graduate of South High School in Cleveland.

John worked as a driver with the Warren City Sanitation Department for 15 years.

He was an active member of New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Warren. He was also a member of the King Solomon Lodge #87 F&AM in Warren.

He enjoyed coaching youth soccer, dancing, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Cynthia Daniels Porter; children, Joubert Porter and Cynthia Porter of Warren; parents, John Sr. and Mary Porter of Warren; siblings, Angela (Raymont) Hamilton of Warren and Juan (Nakita) Porter of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Mattie (Joseph) Freeman of Warren; brother-in-law, LeShun (Alicia) Daniels of Warren; and a host of family and friends.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at New Freedom Baptist Church, and one hour prior to the funeral. The home-going service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the directors of Matthew W. Conley Funeral Home, Youngstown.
