Jeffrey L. Sprague
NORTH BLOOMFIELD — Jeffrey Lee Sprague, 53, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 21, 1963, in Warren, the son of Ronald J. Sprague and Shirley A. Daymond Ritchie.
He was married to Rebecca L. Mills Sprague on July 7, 2012.
He was employed at Trelleborg in Streetsboro, where he was an extruder operator.
He attended the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church, and enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his friends and family.
He was a diehard Cleveland Browns’ fan and liked watching sports and playing baseball.
He loved to be surrounded by others. He was a fun-loving guy who would do anything for someone and called his friends his second family. He especially enjoyed hosting his annual Fourth of July party and his daily golf cart rides with his neighbor, Joe.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; parents, Ronald J. (Ann) Sprague; children, Amanda (Richie) Morrison, Steven Morrison, Jennifer (David) Morris, Emily (Cody) Patchin and Jessica (Robert) Lewis; brother, Darryl (Melody) Sprague; niece, Jennifer (Brent) Frank; aunt and uncle, Mary Jane (Larry) Woodford; stepparents, Arthur (Yang) Ritchie; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley A. Ritchie; and grandparents, Alfred and Hallie Daymond, and Joseph and Bernice Sprague.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Luke Meadows III will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at the Paine Funeral Home Inc., 140 E. Main St., Orwell 44076. Burial will follow at the Brownwood Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will take place at the funeral home 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jeff’s memory to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Seidman Cancer Center, attention to Executive Offices, 13207 Ravenna Road, Chardon, OH 44024. (Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.)
