Elsie P. Loveland 1926-2016

VIENNA — Elsie Penelope Loveland, 90, of Vienna, died peacefully Nov. 20, 2016, with her family by her side at Garden Way Assisted Living, Hermitage, Pa.

Elsie was born the youngest of 10 children Feb. 26, 1926, in Antelope, N.D., to the late Gustave and Christina Rosin Martell Heim.

Elsie was born in a German immigrant home and learned to speak English when she started first grade. Following high school, Elsie attended millinery school in California.

As a young woman, Elsie met Harry W. Loveland in Billings, Montana, whom she married Dec. 8, 1946. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was an active member of Vienna United Methodist Church and Vienna Senior Citizens Group. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, water skiing, and she also enjoyed gardening and writing works of fiction. However, she was most passionate about political and world current events.

She will be sadly missed by her two daughters; Linda (John) Powers, of Stevenson, Wash.; Nancy A. (Thomas) Kennedy, of Sharon, Pa., and her son, Harry W. (Susan) Loveland, of Redondo Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;and many other relatives and friends.

Elsie was preceded in death Oct. 9 of this year by her husband and best friend of 70 years, Harry W. Loveland. Besides her husband and parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings Magdalena Brannon, Pauline Swecker, Fredrick Martell, George Martell, Christina Swecker, Marie Curry, Alida French, Emma Fyfe and Frieda Earl.

The family would like to thank the entire Garden Way family for their love and care to Elsie and Harry over the years.

Friends and family may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road, Brookfield, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m.
