Donald E. Miller
CHANDLER Ariz. — Donald E. Miller, 90, of Chandler, Ariz. passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016.
He was born in 1926. He graduated from Valley Forge Military, Wayne, Pa., in 1944, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A life-long Buckeye, Don was a graduate of The Ohio State University (BA, 1950) and the Ohio State University College of Law (1953).
He worked for the Union Savings and Trust Co. of Warren for 25 years, rising to the position of Vice President and Trust Officer.
In 1980, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he served as a Vice President in the Trust Division of the Valley National Bank and Bank One of Arizona, until he retired on Jan. 1, 1997.
Surviving him are his niece, Lynn Miller of Grove City, Ohio; nephew, Michael (Colleen) Miller of Little Rock, Ariz. and their two children, Michael and Michaelene; sister-in-law, Betty (Robert) Miller Valentine of Grove City, Ohio; stepchildren, Randall Zipperer of Cocoa, Fla., Wayne (Eliana) Zipperer of Gainesville, Fla., and Fred (Laura) Daily of Chandler, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren, Caitlin Zipperer, Ursula and Luana Zipperer, Amber, Kristina and Samantha Serrano and Joseph (Maggie) Sudimack IV and Jarrod and Jake Daily.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Macrina “Dolly” Daily, whom he married in 1980; stepdaughter, Macrina (Larry) Zipperer Greenhill; and brother, Morrell “Skip” Miller.
Funeral services took place Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, Ariz., with burial alongside his wife at the National Memorial Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz.
