Connie S. Fowler

NEWTON FALLS — Connie S. Fowler, 67, of Newton Falls, passed on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at the Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls.

Connie was born March 11, 1949, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Eugene and Pauline Cason Dunavant. Since the age of 11, Connie was lovingly raised by her mother and her stepfather, Daniel Burns. She was a 1968 graduate of Windham High School.

On March 29, 1969, Connie married her high school sweetheart, Richard Fowler. The couple was blessed with her daughters, Melissa and Dianne. Connie enjoyed family time and cooking.

The family will remember her bubbly outgoing personality, her smile and that she saw everyone as her friend. They mentioned that before the internet, there was Connie net. She loved to snack and most recently was given the nickname “the snack burglar.”

Her favorite pastimes included gardening, playing bingo and making crafts, especially painting.

Connie had been a member of Light House of Jesus Christ in Akron and the House of Praise in Newton Falls.

Memories of Connie will be carried on by her loving family, including her daughters, Melissa (Greg) Robertshaw and Dianne (Craig) Rohrbaugh; her grandchildren, Austin, Ciera, Brooklyn and Abraham; her siblings, Donnie (Becky) Dunavant, Daniel (Kelly) Burns, Patricia Winemiller and Paula (Bob) Brown; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Mary Stickle-Cox. Connie was preceded by her mother and her stepfather.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where a service will take place 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, with Pastor Roger Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Windham Township Cemetery.
