LEAVITTSBURG — Arlene Marie Hartman, 99, of Leavittsburg, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at Laurie Ann Nursing Home.

Arlene was born Dec. 1, 1916, in Alliance, the daughter of the late Clayton Jacob and Jennie Amanda Seger Fenstermaker.

Arlene married the love of her life, Leon D. Hartman Jr. on June 1, 1937. Arlene and Leon were blessed with 63 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on Oct. 26, 2000.

She lived in Braceville since 1937. She was a homemaker and she attended the Braceville Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was the church board secretary.

She had been the oldest active living member of the church for over 86 years. Arlene loved to go golfing, fishing and hunting. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Memories of Arlene will be carried on by her loving family, including sons, William Hartman of Rock Hill, S.C. and Leon D. (Mary) Hartman III of Leavittsburg; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; daughter-in-law, Betty Hartman; brother, Kenny Fenstermaker; and sisters, Jeraldine Hall, Margaret Hill and Eva Fenstermaker.

Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Braceville Christian Church, 4387 Church Rd. SW, Newton Falls, OH 44444, where services will immediately follow at 10:30 am. Arlene will be laid to rest beside her husband, Leon at Braceville Cemetery.

The family requests that all donations be made to the Braceville Christian Church Sanctuary Fund.
