OVIEDO, Fla. — Antonios Batianis, 71, of Oviedo, Fla., passed away peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, Nov.12, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Tony was born June 21, 1945, in Eratera, Greece, the son of the late James A. and Despina Claros Batianis.
Tony married the love of his life, Maureen K. Mohan, on Aug. 8, 1966, and they enjoyed 25 years of marriage together before she passed away on Dec. 7, 1991.
Tony worked as a steelworker for Republic Steel for 24 years, before retiring in 1991.Tony was a member of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
Memories of Tony will be carried on by his loving family, his two daughters, Christina (Ron) Inmon of Oviedo, Fla., and Mary Kay Ranski of Roaming Shores; his sister, Thomai Batianis of Clearwater Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashley Ranski and Demetri and Calista Inmon; and in-laws, Joyce Owen, Judy Mohan, Dennis and Sharie Mohan, Patrick and Bev Mohan, and Michelle Mohan; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Tony enjoyed spending time at the Florida Gulf Coast beaches soaking in the sun and chasing after his grandkids.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at the funeral home. Tony will be laid to rest next to his wife, Maureen, in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Newton Falls.
Tony was preceeded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Thomas Batianis; and one brother-in-law, Terrance.
