Vincent “Chip” was born June 13, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of Giacomo and Margaret Restivo.

After graduating from East High School, Vincent was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. After returning from the war, he attended Youngstown College, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering.

He launched his career as an engineer at United Engineering in Youngstown, which later merged to become Wean / United Engineering. Before his retirement in 1991, he worked as an engineer for General Motors in Troy, Mich. His work at GM provided Vince travel opportunities to Italy, Japan, China and Germany.

In 1991, Vince married Constance (Connie) Allen and later, the couple moved to Charleston, S.C., where they made their home for the past 22 years.

An avid golfer, Vince was extremely proud of the day he made a “hole-in-one” at Mill Creek Golf Course. His happiest moments were those spent with family and friends. His beloved Connie preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2016, and subsequently, he returned “home” to Youngstown.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joan Arnott (Atty. Jack Lorenzetti) of Girard and Shelley (Atty. Michael) Hudak of Canfield; daughter-in-law, Connie Restivo of Columbus; and grandchildren, Atty. Heather (Rich) Hamilton of Gibsonia, Pa., Noelle (Dr. Tim) Domer, Katie (Dr. Tae) Jung and Taylor Hudak,  all of Canfield, and Vincent J. Restivo, Leigh Restivo and Lauren Restivo, all of Columbus. Vince also leaves six great-grandchildren, Timothy and Carson Domer and Julianna, Michael, Harrison and Mina Jung; along with several nieces and nephews.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis (Ralph) Ambrosia and Viola (Anthony) Modarelli; and brother, Anthony (Peggy) Restivo; his former wife, Joanne Mauerman Restivo; daughter, Kristen L. Restivo; and son, Vincent D. Restivo.

A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with Pastor Al Yanno officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 2 to 3:50 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
