Shelia L. Popovich
NEWTON FALLS – Shelia Louise Popovich, 60, of Newton Falls, passed away peacefully into eternal life Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 27, 1956, in Warren, the daughter of the late Jesse I. and Dorothy L. Streets Waddell.
Shelia married the love of her life, James Stephen Popovich, Oct. 11, 1975, and they enjoyed 41 years of blessed marriage together.
Shelia had lived all her life in Newton Falls, working as a school bus driver and cafeteria worker for Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools for over 30 years before retiring Jan. 26, 2016.
She was a member of Parkman Road Church of Christ. Shelia enjoyed doing crafts, roller skating and watching all Newton Falls sports. She also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family.
Memories of Shelia will be carried on by her loving family including her husband, James S. Popovich of Newton Falls; her daughters, Heather and Martin Kovac of Lordstown and Jessica and Thomas Goodrich of Bazetta; her three brothers, Ivan and Kenny Waddell of Winston-Salem, N.C., Lyle and Marilyn Waddell of Newton Falls and Dale and Machaela Waddell of Goodyear, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Shelia is preceeded in death by her parents; and one sister, Norma Torres.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. The family will receive friends for calling hours 5 to 8 p.m. Friday Oct 7, 2016, at the funeral home. Shelia will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery.
