Mary Caicco

NILES — Mary Caicco, 88, of Niles, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept.18, 1928, in Gioiosa Marea, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of Sam and Tina Catania Curtorillo and came to the U.S. in 1947.

She met her husband of 64 years, Anthony, in June 1951. They built their home in Niles in 1958. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, was president of the Niles Football Mothers Club in 1970, and owned and operated Original Quality Cleaners in Warren for 40 years, where she was known as Miss Mary. She was a professional seamstress who was very passionate about her work.

Mary was an avid gardener and a great cook, who found so much joy in cooking for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wonderful loving memories and traditions of Mary will be carried on by her family.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Anthony, and her four children, daughter, Carmy Williams of Austintown; and three sons, Joe Caicco, Jerry Caicco and John (Liz) Caicco, all of Niles; nine grandchildren, Tiffanie (Brad) Soverns, Cheriese (Adam) Farkas, Candice (Tommy) Cochran, Ronnie (Dina) Williams, Anthony (Laura) Caicco, Maria (Chris) Kardassilaris, Dr. Vincent (Amy) Caicco, Isabella Caicco and John Caicco; and nine great-grandchildren, Brayden, Lyla, Adam, Sophia, Michael, Ronnie, Jack, Christopher and Arianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Ron Williams; daughter-in-law, Sherri Caicco; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Helen Caicco.

Friends may call 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
