Earl F. Vodicka
BOARDMAN — Earl F. Vodicka, 76, of Boardman, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Briarfield Nursing Home in Austintown.
He was born July 30, 1940, in Warren, to George and Jean Stephenson Vodicka.
He attended Newton Falls and Braceville high schools. Earl worked on local dairy farms for several years before going to General Motors in Lordstown. He was transferred to GM in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he resided for many years and then retired after 30 years at GM.
Earl enjoyed watching NASCAR races, playing the lottery and music.
He is survived by his sons, David Vodicka of Phoenix and John Vodicka of Missouri; daughter, Brenda Gonzales of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Vodicka of Albuquerque, N.M., Devin Vodicka of Baytown, Texas, Isabella Marie Gonzales of Livingston, Texas, and Robert Waugh of Warren; siblings, Patricia A. Juillerat of Warren, Jean (Paul) Lee of Ravenna, Carl A. Yeager of Boardman, Sharon Yeager of Warren and Jeff Stephenson of Newton Falls. Earl is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews; and the mother of his children, Janice Moyer of Dayton, Texas.
Besides his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Marie Waugh.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home in Warren. Earl is being cremated, according to his wishes. A private family service will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their care and thoughtfulness. The family would also like to thank the staff at Briarfield Manor for their kindness and dedication to his care.
