POLAND — Deloris “Dee Dee” Philibin, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct.12, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Dee Dee was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Youngstown, to George and Bessie Girts Miller.
She attended Youngstown College, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Phi Lambs.
Dee Dee had worked at Ohio Bell and, later in life, worked at Roncone Studio. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, but her greatest love was for the Cleveland Indians. The one thing that she tried to instill in her family was to always live by The Golden Rule.
Dee Dee leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bernard “Ben” Philibin, whom she married Sept. 17, 1956; her five sons, Tim (Sonia) of Orlando, Fla., Dave of Youngstown, Dan (Jennifer) of Philadelphia, Dr. Terry (Anita) of Vienna and Tom Philibin of Erie, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren, Sean, Gina, Patrick, Kevin, Megan, Kyle, Elizabeth, Andrew, Brian, Christopher and Katie.
A prayer service will be 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Youngstown, officiated by the Rev. Edward Noga. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
