David A. Whitt

BRISTOLVILLE – David Allen Whitt, 65, of Bristolville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1951, in Mansfield, the son of the late Homer and Lula Mae Karnes Whitt.

He married the former Theresa Jarzynkowski on Aug. 2, 1975, and they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage.

David was a graduate of Niles High School and was employed as a transport driver with Community Skilled.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and received the National Defense Service Medal and a Parachute Badge.

He was an avid bowler, loved to play horseshoes, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, landscaping and gardening. David also enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble and was a Little League umpire in Champion. His passion was being the grill master while spending time with his family.

One of the things on his bucket list was to “Witness” a championship in Cleveland and he was able to see this happen.

David’s memory will be carried on by his loving wife, Theresa Whitt of Bristolville; children, Faith (Glenn) Blaylock of Temple, Texas, Kim Whitt of Champion, Nicole (Adam) Gargano of Cortland, Danielle Whitt of Champion and David (Adrienne) Whitt of Bristol; brother, Homer Whitt of Kentucky; grandchildren, Christopher, Paige, Dakota, Danyelle, Brooklynn, Madison, Makaylee, Daylen, Alissa, Shayla, Mariah, Layla, Kaden and Abraham; and his dog and best friend, Winston.

Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by sister, Farren Bogginni; and brother, Danny Whitt.

Services will be 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor William Sprague will officiate. Friends may call 2 to 4:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
