Christine L. Rosner

KINSMAN — Christine L. Rosner, 88, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

She was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Kinsman, a daughter of George and Emily Dorman Hanawalt.

A longtime Kinsman area resident, Mrs. Rosner formerly had been a resident of Jefferson for many years.

She was a 1945 graduate of Vernon High School, and she earned her bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University in 1949.

She was employed as a business teacher for several schools throughout her career, and she helped her second husband, Henry, operate the Jefferson Motel for many years as well.

Mrs. Rosner was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star, and she was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Most of all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was a devoted mother to her three children, Paul (Jan) Miller of Eastlake, Emily Miller of Cincinnati and Barbara (Terry) Downing of Kinsman; her two stepdaughters, Dianne Osborne and Marsha (Roger) Divine, both of Jefferson; and devoted grandmother to her 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Rosner; stepson-in-law, Roger Osborne; a grandson, Gregory and his wife, Melissa Osborne; and her three brothers, William, Russell and Gerry Hanawalt.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, until the memorial service at noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with the Rev. Susan Francis officiating.  A graveside service will be held immediately following at Kinsman Cemetery.
