Carolyn J. Romig-Sollitto
WARREN — Carolyn J. Romig-Sollitto, 76, the most patient wife and best mother in the world, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016.
She was not the best for her cooking or cleaning skills, which she would rather not have to do and give up easily, but rather for the amazing love, patience and grace that she lived.
A lifelong resident of Warren, she finally was able to live out her dream of enjoying the sunshine and warmth of the South when she moved to live with her daughter in North Carolina. People were drawn to her love of life and kindness, always willing to help! Her infectious laugh made you want to have a party wherever you were!
Not to be considered too much of a pushover, let’s not lose sight of the fact that Vegas was always a treat! Traveling and adventuring were always given first place, as well as four-legged friends. A zest for learning never waned; a lifelong learner before it was fashionable. And let’s not underestimate the power of some chocolate and a good beer!
After 41 years as a bank teller and the ability to count money almost as fast as the newfangled machines, she gave it all up to enjoy retirement with her family. Rules for life call for: If you can have the money for plastic surgery, get it, walk every day to stay slim, never wear more than three colors at a time and always call your mother.
Carolyn leaves a husband of 56 years, Michael J. Sollitto; a sister, Janet Dato; a daughter, Lori Keith; and her favorite son-in-law, David Keith, to continue on.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Dorothy Romig; a brother, Charles Romig; three daughters; and a granddaughter, Micah Keith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave. Warren, OH. 44481. Friends and family may call 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Carolyn will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
