Alice J. Duritza

CHAMPION – Alice Jane Grimwood Duritza, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Windsor House of Champion.

She was born June 29, 1922, in Warren, a daughter of the late James C. and Celia Crites Grimwood.

Alice was a lifelong resident of the area, a 1941 graduate of Newton Falls High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Howland.

She retired from the J.C. Penney Co. in 1969 as an office worker and was also employed at Consolidated Freightways and Leeway Motor Freight in Warren in the accounts receivable department.

Alice enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and reading her Bible.

Left to cherish her memories are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Duritza, whom she married June 5, 1958; three sisters, Blanche Riggle, Irene Dabney and Edith Porter; four brothers, Clyde, Edward, Eugene and Paul Grimwood; and a stepsister, Clara Murphy.

Services will be noon Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Brunstetter Cemetery, Austintown.

Material tributes may be made to the First Baptist Church of Howland, 8957 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44484, in her memory.
