Donald E. Vondrasek

WARREN – Donald E. “Rep” Vondrasek, 68, of Warren, entered into eternal peace on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

He was born Feb. 12, 1948, in San Bernardino, Calif., a son of Ruth Champlin Vondrasek.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Donald was extremely proud of his Naval accomplishments, including having received the National Defense Service Medal. Beginning in 1972, he worked as a carpenter for the carpenters union, retiring after 35 years of service.

Donald attended Grace Baptist Church, where he had recently been baptized. He enjoyed spending Sunday mornings with his beautiful granddaughters. He was an experienced hunter and loved sharing his life stories.

Donald’s memory will be carried on by his son, Kirk (Brooke) Vondrasek of Bristolville; mother, Ruth Champlin Vondrasek of Warren; sisters, June Lyons of Warren and Marion (Ronald) Dolejs of Bristolville; granddaughters, Sydnee and Paige; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Vondrasek; brother, Frank Vondrasek; and beloved brother-in-law, Ed Lyons.

A celebration of life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, with refreshments and fellowship to follow commencing at 4 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff in the ICU at St. Joseph Hospital and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care they provided to Donald.

Survivors include his son, Kirk Vondrasek of Bristolville; mother, Ruth of Warren; two sisters, June Lyons of Warren and Marion Dolejs of Bristolville; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
