MINERAL RIDGE – Jodi Rhinehart, 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at home, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Her fun personality and beautiful smile will be missed by many.
Jodi was born on June 9, 1959, to Markus and Della Shaw in Warren.
She graduated from Warren G. Harding in 1977.
Jodi was employed with Salvatore’s Italian Grill since 1998, and at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for the past six years, where she helped welcome babies into the world. Caring for others was her calling and she received much satisfaction from her work.
Jodi grew strength from Al-Anon, enjoyed gardening and spending time with those she loved most. She frequently traveled, especially going to the beach, New York City, and sailing on cruises.
Jodi will be sadly missed by the love of her life, Timothy David, whom she married on Sept. 3, 1983; as well as by her children, Timothy (Jennifer) Rhinehart of Waynesville, Estella Shaw Rhinehart of Mineral Ridge and Emily (Thomas Hahn) Rhinehart, also of Mineral Ridge. Her three granddaughters brought her much joy, Sophie and Ava Rhinehart of Waynesville and Jacquelyn Rhinehart of Mineral Ridge. She is also survived by her brother, Markus (Carol) Shaw of Warren; and sisters, Jane (Gary) Lipscomb of Medford, Shannan Shaw of Warren and Debbie Keirsey of Niles. She leaves behind her godchildren, Vance and Rachel Keirsey of Mineral Ridge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Jodi was preceded in death by her parents and godson, Travis L. Keirsey.
Her legacy will continue on, thanks to the love and kindness she shared with all those blessed enough to know her.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Her funeral service will occur 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave. in Niles, with the Rev. Hall officiating.
