James R. Saddler
HARTFORD – James Richard Saddler, 76, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 5, 2014, at his residence after a short illness.
He was born Nov. 2, 1937, in Sharon, Pa., the son of Roy Alling and Jane Swager Saddler.
He was a graduate of the former Fowler High School and a veteran of the Marine Corps and Army Airborne.
James was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
He retired from Schwebel Baking Co. in Youngstown as a baker after working 24 years. He had also worked at Republic Steel and Stanwade Metal Products in Hartford.
He enjoyed gardening, woodcutting, and fixing and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Niessner Saddler, whom he married Sept. 17, 1977; three daughters, Yvonne (Matthew) Marks of Suffolk, Va., Bridget Saddler of Howland and Jessica Saddler of Warren; two sons, Michael Saddler of Columbus and Steven (Casey) Saddler of Hartford; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Carl Hood; one sister; and one brother.
Friends and relatives may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 31 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, Pa.
Burial will be in All Soul’s Cemetery in Bazetta.
