Edward W. Carroll

CORTLAND – Edward “Ed” William Carroll, 83, of Cortland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at his home with family by his side.

Ed was born March 3, 1931, in Walland, Tenn., a son of Frank and Beulah Flynn Carroll.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment.

After retirement, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandson and traveling home to Tennessee, where he liked to camp.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jenith Bruss Carroll; daughter, Carol (Richard) Reed of Kinsman; grandson, Richie Reed; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Paxton, all of Niles; sister, Sara Lou Graves; two brothers, Glenn and James Carroll; and niece, Debbie Kuch.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Carroll.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive in Warren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
