Charles M. Wilhelm
YOUNGSTOWN – Charles M. Wilhelm, 61, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, Aug. 4, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Chuck was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles J. and Helen Kunkle Wilhelm, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1971 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, and was the owner and operator of Chuck’s Westside Recycling for 35 years.
Mr. Wilhelm’s family was his life and his one true love. He lived each day to care for and to support them. He will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He enjoyed reading the newspaper and drinking a “good” cup of coffee.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Janet Thomas Wilhelm, whom he married May 2, 1981; two daughters, Holly Wilhelm and Haley Wilhelm, both of Youngstown; a son, James Michael (Tiffany) Guilkey of Youngstown; and three grandchildren, Charles M. Wilhelm III, James Robert Guilkey and Tristen T. Ramer.
A son, “Little Chuckie” Wilhelm died in 2005.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Chuck’s family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, do so by performing a random act of kindness for the benefit of others.
Chuck would’ve liked everyone to know that today’s price for scrap cars is $235 per net ton. “We love you, Chuck!”
