Arlene E. Goodman
NEWARK – Arlene E. Goodman, 95, of Newark, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at the Windsor House in Liberty.
She was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Allentown, Pa., to the late Erwin and Elizabeth Butz Leiser.
Mrs. Goodman was a registered nurse. She served overseas in France and Germany as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. She enjoyed needlecrafts and her family.
She is survived by her son, David (Ann) Goodman of Cortland; grandchildren, James (Kristen) Goodman of Heath, Dawn (Steve) Green of Westerville and Adam Goodman of Erie, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Cody and Brittany Goodman, Lincoln and Abigail Green, and Clayton and Adyson Goodman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Goodman in 1992 and son, James E. Goodman in 1983.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Goodman will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, with Pastor Bryan K. Grove officiating.
Calling hours will be observed 11 a.m. Friday until time of service at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark, OH 43055.
Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
